Frequently asked questions.
Why DPC?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an alternative model for doing primary care. It is a cash-pay subscription model that does not utilize insurance. This means shorter wait times and usually lower costs. Read more about it here.
Does your clinic replace insurance?
In a word, no. You can read more about this on the “What Is DPC?” page, but we still recommend that our patients have at least basic health insurance or a cost-sharing plan (like Medi-Share) to cover emergency or specialist care.
Do I have to have insurance to be seen?
You do not have to have insurance. As above, we recommend having insurance, but it is not required to be seen at Iatros.
Can I use an HSA to pay for my membership?
Unfortunately, no, you cannot legally use an HSA to pay for Direct Primary Care at this time.
Can I be a member if I have Medicare?
You certainly can be a member here, but you can not use any Medicare benefits to pay for your membership. However, it is good to keep Medicare because it will still give you benefits for other unplanned medical needs.
Can I be seen if I am not a member?
Yes! We do see non-member patients for acute visits during regular office hours for a fee of $100 per patient appointment. However, members enjoy the benefits of access to care outside of office hours, telemedicine, and house calls. Members also have access to the full scope of primary care, including chronic condition management, medication management, and routine lab work.
Why are you building your clinic out in the country?
God has blessed us to have enough space to build a small clinic on our own property. While this is not in town, it means that we have lower overhead: we don’t have to rent an office or pay in-town taxes. These savings can then be passed along to you.
